This professional development workshop is designed to equip new and emergency licensed special education teachers with the essential skills to create compliant and meaningful Postsecondary Transition Plans (PTPs) for students they serve.

Participants will gain practical knowledge and resources to streamline the PTP development process while incorporating culturally responsive practices. A key focus will be on enhancing family engagement throughout the transition planning process. By the end of the workshop, educators will have a strong understanding of PTP requirements, available resources, and strategies to support students with IEPs as they transition to post-secondary life.

Training Objectives:

  • Knowledge of requirements for writing compliant PTPs
  • Ability to use tools within the PTP application to increase efficiency during the PTP writing process
  • Increased ability to engage families in the transition planning
  • Build awareness of PTP resources and supports
