This professional learning workshop is designed to equip experienced Middle and High School special education teachers with expanded knowledge of transition practices based on the NTACT:C Predictors of Postschool Success. Participants will be able to apply this knowledge to improve practices so that students experience increased involvement in independent living skills, postsecondary education, competitive integrated employment and other education and training opportunities once they leave high school. The day consists of four main components: family engagement, work-based learning and career development, outside agencies/transition partners, and transition planning, including assessment to beyond age 18 programming. This event is intended for educators only.
