In Person: Best Practices in Transition Planning to Increase Engagement in Postschool Outcomes

This professional learning workshop is designed to equip experienced Middle and High School special education teachers with expanded knowledge of transition practices based on the NTACT:C Predictors of Postschool Success. Participants will be able to apply this knowledge to improve practices so that students experience increased involvement in independent living skills, postsecondary education, competitive integrated employment and other education and training opportunities once they leave high school.

Training Objectives:
- Develop knowledge and skills to extend transition planning beyond credit completion and academic requirements
- Align transition services with the NTACT:C Predictors of Postschool Success, giving students access to experiences linked to increased positive school outcomes
- Deepen knowledge of effective transition related topics and resources (i.e., engaging families, collaborating with outside agencies)
